For the needs of the SCANDINAVIAN style of casting, we offer the ROARINGRIVER STINGER series. With eight rods, ranging from 12'6" to 15', these rods were designed to optimally cast floating or intermediate shooting heads of 33 to 46 ft. This is the most recent development in two-hand casting, a much faster, shorter stroke using the lower hand (underhand casting). These rods help you generate high line speed and give you great shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods let you make overhead false casts, generating the highest line speed possible. That's assuming you have sufficient room for back casting, such as gravel bar or ocean beaches.

This rod is for smaller rivers and gentle presentations. Don't be fooled however, it will deliver the long cast, and land a strong fish when challenged. Greatest with small to medium size flies, even a modest salmon, searun brown or rainbow will put a major grin on your jaw. Nice with heads around 35 feet.

One of the most popular Scandinavian rods for G.Loomis in the past has been the 13 foot #8/9 GLX - 3 piece. The 1568/9-4 is a reincarnation in a 4 piece version, along with the improvements in guides, reel seats, and in the beautiful Highlander Green blank coating. The action is just slightly more smooth than the 12'6 or 14' series, and can be used in a wide variety of casting styles. If one rod could do it all in spey casting and fishing, this is an eager candidate.
