Surf Rods
Extremely powerful, lightweight, high energy spinning and casting rods that give you unbelievable distance and accuracy. Distance is important because no matter how good the rod, you can never quite reach that outside edge where the bait and the fish always seem to be. When the action moves close to shore anyone can be in the zone, but it takes a special rod design to get you out there where they’re out of every one else’s reach. The secret is a faster “recovery rate”. The faster a rod can recover from a loaded (flexed) position to a “quiet" (straight) position, the less line slap (friction) you experience. Less friction means higher line speeds resulting in longer casts. It’s the one factor that increases casting distance more than any other, except maybe the size of lure you’re fishing. Combine that with the feather-like weight of these rods and you’ll wonder how you ever fished without them.

It handles light metal exceptionally well and has more than enough power in the butt-section to handle larger fish. With plenty of power to handle oversize stripers, blues and drum, this rod can throw three ounces of metal well beyond the first bar. SUR1448C Length: 12' Power: 8 Pieces: 2
When you need the power to throw an 8-ounce sinker and 4 ounces of bait out over the horizon, this is the answer. Add to that the sensitivity to telegraph light bites, the strength to set the hook from a quarter mile away, and the ability to handle big drum or stripers with ease, and you can see why this is the best big-surf stick in the business. The rod's a two-piece, with an 8-foot tip and a 4-foot butt section. Even if you don't surf fish, get one anyway. The next time your boat gets loose from the dock you can cast a grappling hook and reel it back in.
